St. Johns County Public Works seeks a Chief Engineer to be responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive Strategic Plan for Public Works to include Transportation and Traffic, Alternative Transportation, Water Quality, Safety, Pavement Management, and Capital Improvements. Ensures consistency between the Countywide Transportation Master Plan and the Public Works Capital Improvements Program priorities. Develops process for periodic updates and integration with other Public Works Programs (Asset Management). Manages the Water Quality Program projects, Basin Management Action Plan (BMAP), and other water quality related projects. Trains, supervises, evaluates and disciplines assigned personnel. Makes recommendations regarding hiring and firing decisions. Prepares and supervises the preparation of contracts, interlocal agreements and other legal documents as necessary. Works closely with other county departments and local, state, and federal agencies. Coordinates public outreach for input and participates in delivering public presentations. Engages with outside agencies to coordinate priority projects and explore grant or other funding options. Responds to public or other inquiries for information in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
Minimum salary $65,800.60 - maximum $100,123.39
