On September 20, 2013, Associated Industries of Florida will host the 4th Annual Florida Water Forum at the Renaissance Orlando Hotel. The event will once again provide an opportunity for Floridians to hear from Florida’s key policymakers on upcoming issues relating to water resources. The Water Forum has quickly become one of the most informative and popular events of the year, garnering recognition and praise from business leaders, regional and local government officials, and the general public.
This year, the agenda includes presentations from Commissioner Adam Putnam (DACS), Secretary Hershel Vinyard and Drew Bartlett (DEP), Ann Shortelle (SRWMD) and Ernie Barnett (SFWMD), as well as legislators including Sen. Wilton Simpson (New Port Richey), Rep. Ben Albritton (Bartow), Rep. Dana Young (Tampa), Rep. Ray Pilon (Sarasota), Rep. Matt Caldwell (Lehigh Acres), and Rep. Elizabeth Porter (Lake City).
Topics will include:
- Agricultural Water Supply Planning
- 30 Year Permitting
- Numeric Nutrient Criteria (NNC) Legislation
- Everglades Legislation
- Inter-District Issues
Although this date conflicts with the final morning meetings at FAC’s Policy Conference, it is a worthwhile event for those that are able to attend. For more information and registration forms, please see the following website: www.flawaterforum.com.
