The Health & Human Services Policy Committee will be meeting on Wednesday, November 28 at the Legislative Conference in Sarasota. Major topics of discussion for the committee include: changes to the current Medicaid billing system and overall state-county cost sharing relationship; and potential changes to the structure of the state’s public health system and the coordinated county health departments.
Additionally, the return of many old issues is anticipated, including legislation related to counties’ responsibilities with regard to the disposition of unclaimed bodies, as well as efforts to repeal the state preemption of local smoking regulations.
As we approach the 2013 session, input on these and other issues is extremely valued and encouraged.
