Assistant County Manager

Nassau County has an opening for an Assistant County Manager at $82,622.39 - $116,743.27 annually plus benefits depending on qualifications.

General Description:                                                                                                                    Highly responsible professional and managerial position providing direct support to the County Manager on various programs and government services to include dealing with County staff, the Board of County Commissioners, Constitutional Officers and various public affairs issues; directly handles matters of organizational importance on behalf of the County Manager, as appropriate.  Performs work with considerable independent judgement.  Oversees assigned departments and operations, develops courses of action and recommendations.  Acts as County Manager in the absence of the Manager.

Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Management, Business or related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible governmental administrative and supervisory experience or a combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  May require a valid State Driver’s License. 

Special Requirements:
Employee must reside in Nassau County or move to Nassau County within one-hundred twenty (120) days of employment.
