Survey Supervisor – Lake County, Florida


Lake County is seeking an experienced professional to fill the position of Survey Supervisor. The County is home to approximately 300,000 people and is located approximately 35 minutes outside of Orlando.  County residents pride themselves on being “Real Florida. Real Close” with over 1,000 pristine lakes and rivers, endless acres of preserves, pristine blueways, and many unique downtown districts. 


The position of Survey Supervisor manages the Surveying Section of the Lake County Public Works Department, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, policies and procedures. The position is responsible for supervising staff, coordinating field surveys for all Public Works projects, managing related contracts and agreements, reviewing plats, determining public rights of ways and easements, maintaining survey records and maps, and performing related administrative, supervisory and technical work as required.  This position may be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.


The salary range for this position is $56,908.80 - $93,766.40.


The minimum required qualifications for the position include a Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying or a closely related field, with six (6) years of related experience, and extensive knowledge of the public land system. This position also requires state licensure as a Professional Surveyor and Mapper and a valid Florida driver’s license.
