Public Works - Engineering - Design Engineering

Performs complex professional civil engineering work in the research, design, development, review and coordination of County road, park, trail and stormwater projects. Responsible for supervising subordinate staff; serving as project manager; coordinating grant projects; serving as liaison to the public, boards and commissions, and other agencies as necessary; and performing related professional, administrative, technical and supervisory work as assigned. May be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.
Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in design and permitting of roadways, site plans, and development projects. This position will lead the engineering development review section of the Department of Public Works while also providing project management of county road and stormwater projects.
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering or related field with five (5) years of related experience.
Must possess or be able to obtain licensure as a Professional Engineer within three (3)months of employment.
Requires a valid Florida driver’s license.
