This course is designed to give commissioners an understanding of the history of land use planning in Florida and how we got where we are today. Participants will learn the realities of implementing comprehensive plans including how amendments, development approvals, and exceptions should be handled. Participants who complete this workshop in its entirety will receive 6 core credits toward the CCC Certification, Torchbearers will receive 25 points for full attendance.
This workshop will be held Thursday, April 6, 2017 (10:00 am - 5:00 pm) at the FSU Turnbull Conference Center located at 555 W Pensacola Street, Tallahassee, FL 32306. Registration for this workshop is $125, which includes all materials, breakfast and lunch. Three scholarships are available for members from small counties on a first come, first served basis - only one scholarship will be allowed per county.
