The Association is in direct contact with various state agencies as well as FAC Corporate Partners to help provide the most up to date information on response and services available to Florida's communities.  This page will be updated regularly with any information we receive that will be useful before, during and after the impact of Hurricane Irma.

 

Debris Removal

The State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) is currently working to stand-up a Debris Coordination Branch to work with impacted communities and assist with debris concerns. Additional debris Subject Matter Experts have been identified. Please utilize the link below to report debris impacts as you are able. Reporting of debris to the SEOC informs efficient operations statewide.

FEMA Designated Disaster Counties:

All 67 counties have been declared eligible for public assistance Public Assistance - Category A & B

 

President Donald Trump’s Administration expanded his Major Disaster Declaration for Florida that Governor Scott requested to include Public Assistance Categories C-G, which includes Roads and Bridges (Category C), Water Control Facilities (Category D), Buildings and Equipment (Category E), Utilities (Category F), Parks, Recreational, and Other (Category G), for the below counties. That means the following counties are eligible for repayment in these categories.

Baker, Broward, Charlotte, Clay, Collier, Duval, Flagler, Glades, Hendry, Hillsborough, Lee, Manatee, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Nassau, Palm Beach, Pasco, Putnam, Pinellas, Sarasota, St. Johns

Duke Energy Announces Estimated Power Restoration times for Florida

  • The company expects to complete power restoration to essentially all Duke Energy Florida customers in the following areas:
  • By midnight Friday, Sept. 15: The western portion of its service area. This includes Pinellas and Pasco counties
  • By midnight Sunday, Sept. 17: central and northern portions of the service area. This includes Alachua, Bay, Brevard, Citrus, Columbia, Dixie, Flagler, Franklin, Gilchrist, Gulf, Hamilton, Hernando, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lake, Leon, Levy, Madison, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, Sumter, Suwannee, Taylor, Volusia, and Wakulla counties.
  • Restoration in the severely impacted areas of Hardee and Highlands County may extend beyond Sunday due to rebuilding the electrical system that suffered significant damage in those areas.

On September 12th the IRS granted relief to taxpayers who have been adversely affected by Hurricane Irma and who have retirement assets in qualified employer plans that they would like to alleviate hardships caused by Hurricane Irma.   Nationwide intends to comply with IRS relief for victims of Hurricane Irma and will implement our expedited Unforeseeable Emergency (UE) process.  Click here for more information.
