JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR OF PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT
DEPARTMENT: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
SALARY RANGE: $45,000 - $70,000

This is a professional position responsible for the management, administration and supervision of the staff and activities assigned to Community Development. Performs professional and technical work developing, researching, and maintaining public planning studies and programs. Work involves technical and creative responsibility conducting research and preparing detailed studies on land use, zoning, conservation, housing, transportation, population, historic preservation, urban design, and other areas of comprehensive planning activities. Ensures program compliance with criteria governing local, state, and federal legislature relating to growth management. Work is performed under the administrative direction of the County Manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a degree in Planning, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field. AICP Certification Preferred. Five years experience in Planning, Zoning, or Public Administration (Florida experience preferred). A minimum of three years experience in a supervisory capacity. (A comparable amount of training, education or experience can be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:
Valid Florida Driver’s Licenses.
AICP Certification preferred.
JOB LOCATION: Glades County Community Development, Moore Haven.
WORK SCHEDULE: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday
