CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR: Flagler County Government is accepting applications for a Construction Inspector to assist the County Engineer in responsible inspection work assuring that roadways, structures and projects are in compliance with standards and specifications.
DUTIES: This position will observe, inspect and evaluate contractors' work, recommend corrective actions, maintains a project workbook containing records of all job inspections, quantity work performed and communications pertaining to the work performed. After reviewing engineering plans the inspector will gather and prepare survey data, field conditions evaluations, and cost estimates of all capital and maintenance projects. The inspector will also attend pre-construction and construction meetings, meet with contractors, residents and other entities to ensure that all field issues are resolved in a timely manner. Assess right of way issues for maintenance issues such as driveways, swales, and resurfacing projects.
Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a High School Diploma or acceptable equivalency. Minimum of 5 years experience in construction or inspection of roadways and heavy construction. Must possess a valid State of Florida Driver’s License. Knowledge of codes, standards and regulatory requirements related to roadways and construction. Knowledge of water and drainage systems.
