FAC Ambassador Program

Bringing Counties Together

With the 2008 general election complete, FAC is kicking off its Ambassador program. The program was created to link tenured commissioners to share their experience and FAC with newly elected commissioners. By serving as an Ambassador, commissioners can help new commissioners avoid the land mines that can come with holding public office, share creative solutions found in your county and share with them the value and importance FAC has had on your tenure. This year Florida elected 86 new county commissioners across the state and your are needed to help to help them get established in your office.

Do you remember winning your election for the first time and the thought crossing your mind—now what? And how do I accomplish all the things I promised? Well, these 86 commissioners are now asking themselves the same questions and you can help them find the answers. FAC has long provided new commissioner workshops—the next one is January 7 & 8– but by connecting commissioner to commissioner you can relate and understand the challenges they are facing.

FAC will match you with a new commissioner and provide you all the necessary contact info. Then we simply ask that you reach out to them once a month for the next six months and then periodically thereafter. Encourage them as they get settled and keep them apprised of FAC’s efforts and programs.
