FAC 2008 Annual Conference a success
-Commissioners come from across the state for advanced training and sharing of solutions-
On June 27th, FAC wrapped up its 79th Annual Conference with close to 300 attendees and 200 exhibitors. The event was a huge success focusing on “Restoring the Partnership: Working together for Florida’s future.” The conference was held over three days, June 24-26 at the Doral Golf Resort in Miami, FL.
The event had more legislators attend this year than in almost any year before, a great success in the kick off of our restore the partnership efforts. Speakerdesignate Ray Sansom issued a keynote address at the meeting that articulated counties can count on an open door during his speaker term and he is committed to restoring the partnership between local and state government. In addition to Speaker Sansom, Rep. Larry Cretul, Rep. David Rivera, Sen. Lee Constantine, President Pruitt, Sen. Ted Deutch, and Sen. Lisa Carlton – to name a few also attended the conference.
Many workshops were held that introduced counties to new and innovative ways to save revenue in addition to communications training in speech giving and media relations. Each year the FAC Annual Conference offers an opportunity for County Commissioners across the state to convene and share ideas and solutions for the many problems affecting us all.
