The Director performs highly responsible professional, administrative and managerial work directing all County Public Works programs and activities. Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates activities of the various divisions comprising the Public Works Department. Work requires the application of a high degree of technical ability coupled with a broad familiarity of County technical and operational requirements, as well as considerable effectiveness in presenting program needs and accomplishments. Work also requires precise administration for operating and maintaining a significant operating budget, capital improvements program, and various state and federal grants.
Applicant should have a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, public administration, or related field, Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience administrating public works or engineering operations, to include lead or supervisory experience, and ten (10) years of experience in the field. A Professional Engineer’s license is preferred.
Authorized hiring range for the position is $107,224 to $139,380, DOQ. The County offers an attractive benefits package.
