Social Services cover a broad range of programs and public assistance measures. Individual counties offer a variety of different programs that may be unique to their area and every county participates in larger state and federal programs. Each area FAC covers is delineated below.
Community Services Block Grants (CSBG)
Community Services Block Grants (CSBG) is a formula grant that provides funding for states to provide supportive services to assist low-income individuals and families in becoming self-sufficient. Behavioral Health
Mental Health and Substance Abuse Information, including issues such as the Baker Act and the Medicaid local match program for substance abuse services.
Homelessness
Federal agency collaborations and partnerships with state and local governments along with the private sector are necessary in order to achieve the objectives of preventing and ending homelessness. Transportation Disadvantaged (Medicaid Transportation)
Medicaid Non-Emergency Transportation, also known as the Transportation Disadvantaged Program, ensures that citizens who are unable to transport themselves can make it to their doctor’s appointments, receive dialysis treatment, or simply make a weekly trip to the grocery store.
