FDOT is hosting an Open House to support the update of the Florida Transportation Plan (FTP) and the Strategic Intermodal System (SIS) Policy Plan. The FTP/SIS Open House will be held in conjunction with TRANSPLEX. TRANSPLEX will begin on August 24, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Hotel in Orlando, Florida and continue on the morning of August 25, 2015. Immediately after TRANSPLEX, the FTP/SIS Open House will begin in the same location to continue to generate crucial feedback for Florida’s transportation future and facilitate collaboration among professionals in the field of transportation.

TRANSPLEX is a forum for individuals in the transportation planning community to share ideas, best practices, challenges and solutions. The goals of this exchange is to build relationships and strengthen communication among Florida’s transportation professionals. For more information, please visit http://transplex.org/. Please encourage your partners and stakeholders to register for TRANSPLEX.

The FTP/SIS Open House will feature 8 unique stations for participants to learn more about the FTP and the SIS Policy Plan. The keynote speakers include experts in the fields of space, automated and connected vehicles, and regional coordination and participants will have an opportunity to share their best innovative ideas with these experts following their presentations. Participants will have opportunities weigh in on the FTP goals and objectives, data necessary for monitoring performance, and potential barriers to success. There will even be an informal meet and greet with FDOT project staff and members of the FTP/SIS Steering Committee to discuss ideas, questions, and concerns.

We want to engage as many people in this process as we can and need your help. Please direct your partners and stakeholders to http://floridatransportationplan.com/summit.html for more information about the FTP/SIS Open House and to register. There is no registration fee for this event. This is an opportunity to provide valuable feedback on how best to implement the goals, objectives, and strategies of the FTP. The information we gather at the FTP/SIS Open house will continue to shape the FTP and Florida’s transportation future.
