The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will convene a public meeting of the Acquisition and Restoration Council (ARC) on Friday, September 13, 2013. The purpose of the meeting is to present the scientific process used to assess conservation land and the results of that assessment. Acquisition and Restoration Council. More specifically, the Division of State Lands will provide a brief presentation on the development of the statistical model (GIS-weighted criteria) used to evaluate Trustees-owned conservation lands, as well as a summary of public input and list revisions that have occurred since the initial publication. A discussion will then ensue to obtain ARC member’s opinions and guidance on the process and/or specific sites, after which there will also be an opportunity to hear public comment. The Department is planning to conduct a series of regional public workshops around the state to receive further public input.
