On November 15, 2012, the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) Governing Board adopted the Lower West Coast Water Supply Plan Update.   Pursuant to 163.3177(6)(c)3, Florida Statutes, local governments are required to adopt updated Work Plans within 18 months of Governing Board Approval. The Work Plan planning period is a minimum of 10 years with the updated Work Plans to be adopted by May 2014.  To that end, the District is offering technical assistance to local governments in updating their Water Supply Facilities Work Plan.

The Lower West Coast Service Center will host the District’s first Lower West Coast Technical Assistance Workshop on Friday June 14, 2013.  The address is 2301 McGregor Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33901 (239) 338-2929.    District staff will be available the day of the workshop to meet with members in person to discuss updates to your Work Plan and answer any questions you may have.   The tentative agenda is as follows:
