Next week, FAC will start its annual visit to newspaper editorial boards across the state.  This is an opportunity to share with local media the issues facing counties this legislative session and ask them to weigh in on behalf of home rule.

FAC’s 2013 Legislative Priorities are keeping the Communications Services Tax (CST) revenue neutral, and developing a solution to Medicaid billing as well as juvenile justice.  All told these three issues impact counties to the tune of $700 million annually.

A copy of our 2013 Legislative Priorities can be found here.

Over the coming weeks, FAC will be visiting the following newspapers: Gainesville Sun, Daytona Beach News Journal, Tallahassee Democrat, Florida Times Union, St. Petersburg Times, Tampa Tribune, Orlando Sentinel, Miami Herald, South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Palm Beach Post, Naples Daily News, Fort Myers News Press, Bradenton Herald, Pensacola News Journal, Northwest Florida Daily News, Panama City News Herald, Florida Today and Lakeland Ledger.

FAC always invites a local commissioner to attend these meetings with us and we have reached out to the chair of your commission to see if they would like to attend or appoint another commissioner in their place.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact FAC Communications Director Cragin Mosteller.
